Walnut Grove Buddhist Church is a Shin Buddhist, family-friendly temple. Whether you are temple members, dharma friends, or seekers passing through on your journey, take a moment here to see what we offer, learn who we are, and know that you are always welcome to join us for our monthly service, adult Dharma study, and other events.

 

We are an inclusive community that embraces the teachings of Jodo Shinshu, a form of Pure Land Buddhism. We encourage you to explore the path of Amida Buddha and experience boundless wisdom and compassion. You have already arrived.

ABOUT OUR TEMPLE

Founded in 1927 by Japanese immigrants and their decendents, Walnut Grove Buddhist Church has been a spiritual home for generations, nurturing the understanding and practice of Jodo Shinshu. Our temple serves as a community sanctuary for reflection, learning, and church gatherings.

MONTHLY SERVICES

Join us for our monthly gatherings to chant, meditate, and listen to Dharma talks that illuminate the path of Jodo Shinshu. We combine our monthly service with Shotsuki, a memorial service held to honor and remember family and friends who passed away in that specific month, regardless of the year.
